O’side Kitchen Collaborative Rebrands To Reach More Food Vulnerable Communities

  • by

Oceanside CA— — O’side Kitchen Collaborative, a food services non-profit has announced they are changing their name to ONE Kitchen Collaborative. The rebrand effort includes a new name, logo, and to website   better reflect their growth within the community.

“During the Pandemic we jumped to the call of action to help those in need,” said Vallie Gilley, Executive Director of One Kitchen Collaborative. “With the help of our community partners, donors, volunteers and team we served 680,928 meals to our most vulnerable community members. While we celebrate these achievements, I’m also aware that so much more still needs to be done.”

Since 2020, the OKC has diverted 400,236 pounds of edible food, provided over 680,000 meals and 21,280 produce and supplemental grocery boxes to those in need. OKC also makes a conscious effort to recycle, reuse and reduce waste as well as composting and/or organics recycling which to date has been 44,236 pounds.

“So as our community grows bigger and stronger daily, we wanted to celebrate that with a name change that feels in alignment,” said Gilley. “Although we will have a new brand, our core values and focus will not change. We’re pivoting to something greater and are hopeful our new brand will help us reach more communities.”
As part of their expansion plans, OKC opened a second kitchen location, created new programming, more educational partnerships, amazing products and as the world is opening up will finally be able to provide more catering for events. OKC is now offering services from Oceanside to Vista, Escondido to Poway as well as Carlsbad and the greater San Diego area. In the future, OKC would like to expand programs to work with more farms and food businesses.

One Kitchen Collaborative is a program of our 501C3 Nonprofit Feeding the Soul Foundation. The OKC practices a zero waste operation at two kitchen locations, Villa Escondido and the Green Oceanside Kitchen. The organization’s mission is to create solutions to reduce food waste while addressing food insecurity in our community through catering, food production and education programs. The vision is to become a model of zero waste supporting hunger relief.

OKC is always looking for new partnerships, additional donations and/or corporate sponsorship opportunities to support the growth of our catering and product line as well as new educational programs.
